Whenever I have issues with FSX, I simply rename the fsx.cfg to fsx.off, dll.xml to dll.off, and scenery.cfg to scenery.off and restart the sim. So, you might want to rename the dll.xml to dll.off and exe.off before restarting your sim after you have done the repair. The dll.xml (located in the same folder as fsx.cfg), is NOT a default file so it will load with the new installation and, the dll.xml is known to be the cause of a lot of crashes and problems with FSX. If you install SP2 with Acceleration you will have lots and lots of problems. No SP2 as SP2 is the freeware version of Acceleration.
